About Me

I share my life with a wonderful partner, three spoiled chi's and our Koi. My goal is to reach out to a diverse blend of people and share the joy of quilting, pond keeping, and cooking. My profile pic is of me at my quilt frame. I love seeing pics of hands actually quilting.I love quilting and desire to share that same joy with others. Hopefully more men will come fwd with stories of their own. I know others are out there -I've seen you lurking around quilt guilds, and fabric stores, LOL !! Also, I have more pics on my webpage just click on the link to the left under my hand :-) Lastly, This blog is dedicated to my partner's mom and my late grandmother who both taught me that quilting should always bring together cultures, genders and races. Although quilting is often judged for perfect points, perfect design, perfect stitching, etc . . . I like the fact that these two women (along with myself) loved how quilting could be nice and utilitarian at the same time. Yet, if neither one had ever had quilting that was judged -they both just loved to quilt! With this in mind -my quilting journey has become very liberating once I realized that my work didn't have to be perfect! At the end of the day -it simply needed to bring a since of peace to my life and to the lives of others who appreciate the art of quilting -period. And, that is why I wanted to share my quilting journey with the web! I found that for me to be truly free within my quilting efforts-I had to stop comparing my work against that of someone else. One day, when I'm gone to the great beyond with needle and hoop in hand I suspect the Creator will say -well done, you used your gift in a way that pleased me and you at the same time!
All are welcome to post to my blogs, but my target audience is the male quilter. This is only because so many of us (men who quilt) in the world -are severely under represented in the world of quilting. So, I'm reaching out to every man who was ever been looked down upon at the quilt shop, quilt guild, fabric store, etc . . .to let you know that you have a place here! It's really funny that she,(my partner's mom) in particular, felt I was probably a better quilter than she -but I considered my quilting efforts to never be good enough -compared to hers! I look fwd to sharing in your quilting stories, experiences and pics of your projects. So, hopefully the blogosphere will bring a since of humanity and warmth to quilting as we all share our stories! Thanks to my Partner, too many Koi to name, and 3 Chi's -who helped me with this project~
